Abstract [en]

This thesis is carried out to see if it is possible to engage in autonomous drilling with the Atlas Copco Pit Viper 351 in Bolidens Aitik Mine. If the result of autonomous drilling falls within the error frame of manual operation and the positioning is accurate enough, then there is a possibility to run the drilling rigs autonomously or via teleremote. The results were derived by measuring data from the drilled hole and then compare the data against planned holes from the blasting plan and drilled holes from the drilling rig. The results from the drilling rig can vary depending on the GPS quality, therefore also the deviation from good and bad GPS quality was included in the result. The total deviation from all the values were between [0.20 m - 0, 26 m] with 95 % confidence intervals, on good GPS (GPS3) the deviation came between [0.19 m- 0 , 24 m] with 95 % confidence intervals and with poor GPS (GPS2) became an deviation between [0.27 m- 0, 71 m] with 95 % confidence intervals. Deviation for specific machines and blasting rounds are available in Appendix 5. The risk of deviation in autonomous mode is 20 % with a deviation of [<0,1 m- 0,15 m]
