Implementeringen av BIM: En studie vid JM

Abstract [en]

Streamlining the construction process may result in reduced construction costs, something the industry is in dire need of. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is one way to achieve such goals. JM‘s goal is to reduce costs and save time in the various sub-processes by using BIM. A study was made to obtain how JM works to achieve high quality in their processes, how BIM is used in the current situation, and how BIM can be used to be an effective complement to the company. At the present there is no definite plan in JM for BIM and how it should be used. The technology is still in the early testing stage and a plan for how BIM should be used within the company is necessary. BIM has been used in several projects by the construction managers for 3D collision checks and for co-scrutinizing of drawings. The method has proved to be effective and has yielded positive reactions from those who have come into contact with it. In the test project with BIM that JM has conducted, the calculations and quantifications has ended up with good results. In some cases however, some quantities have not been correct and the work has been regarded as unnecessarily complex. “Strukturerad produktion” is the name of a strategy that JM has introduced to standardize their product. According to JM, it is important that you work in a uniform way to increase efficiency and reduce wastage. By using a coherent approach JM achieve smaller variance in processes and thereby reduce costs related to these. “Strukturerad production” is about creating routine descriptions and assembly instructions for all employees in Sweden to work with.
