I Bild, Ur Bild: En konceptutveckling för att identifiera andra generationens upplevelser genom innehållsanalys av fotografier
2013 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to attempt concept development of a method for evaluating and developing experience offerings, grounded in theories of second generation experiences and co-production. The method was to be based off a quantitative content analysis of publicly published guest generated images, featuring the experience offering. We also wanted to try out our concept on a real experience offering by way of a case study.Based on our initial literature review, a background is given to the areas of experience production, tourism photography and content analysis of photographic material. In the result section, our concept - based on a second, more extensive literature review - is presented. The case study to try out the concept is also presented in full. A how-to-guide for our new method is included as an appendix to this thesis. Our conclusions from this study are that the analysis method developed is a working way of deciding the degree of co-production in experience offerings. It is our belief that experience entrepreneurs or destination developers, in particular larger ones, would benefit from using such an analysis to decide the degree of co-production in their offerings, to better be able to evaluate and develop second generation experience offerings.
