This study has its focus on digital service innovation and parts to consider within a development project. The study will present a theoretical framework that consists of selected parts of digital service innovation. The framework has been formed and analyzed based on interviews and observations made at Scania-Bilar Sverige AB. The result consists of a case description and is then divided into six parts which are central to development projects. Headlines such as information resources, competitiveness, roles, value, user involvement and communication are treated in the results and analysis. Finally, we will show the conclusions we have drawn from our analysis of the collected data. We also add recommendations for businesses in general, when it comes to digital service innovation using information resources.Information resources are in this case based on the IT assets, IT skills and knowledge that a business can possess. This includes, for example, collected data about customers, products, or the like, and the knowledge and the abilities of the staff and customers are holding on their respective businesses. The study should not be viewed as a manual on how a development project should be designed, but it gives the reader an understanding of which parts are central to design digital services that a customer wants to buy, and the user can use.
