Utformning av ett balanserat styrkort i ett företag som präglas av coopetition: En interaktiv fallstudie av tillitens betydelse för ledningsgruppens arbete

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to create an understanding of the relationship between trust and a management team's ability to formulate goals and strategies under coopetition. The study also aimed to examine the relationship between the design of a balanced scorecard and trust. The study further aimed to create an understanding of how and if a balanced scorecard can affect the ability of a management team, in a business characterized by coopetition, to formulate goals and strategies. The study has been conducted as an interactive and actor-oriented case study on a company that has undergone a merger process. Our results were analyzed by examining five theses, which evolved from the study's theoretical framework. Our results demonstrate that trust is a critical factor in the management team's ability to formulate goals and strategies in a company that is characterized by coopetition. By achieving a sufficient level of trust the ability within a management team to formulate goals and strategies increases. At low levels of trust it is critical to take steps to increase the levels of trust within a management team. The results of the study also show that the process of designing a balanced scorecard can be expected to increase trust within a management team.
