Abstract [en]

The purpose of this qualitative interview study was to gain a deeper insight in how self-confidence and self-esteem interact with vocal education. We wanted to find out how vocal students’ confidence has been affected over a longer time span and from different periods of their lives. Our questions aim to gain a deeper understanding in how vocal education interacts with self-confidence.We interviewed six music university students who specialize in singing. We concluded that confirmation from teachers affected the students’ level of confidence for further music studies.
