Abstract [en]

Podcasting has become a major part of many young Swedes media consumption. The largest podcasts in Sweden have hundreds of thousands of listeners every week. But how much is really remembered of what is being said?This essay seeks to find out if music breaks can benefit the listener’s ability to concentrate and to memorize the spoken content of the podcast. We used three different groups of people who listened to a specific podcast but with different premises. We found out that, if the listener is aware of that the music is a part of the podcast, it benefits the ability to remember the spoken content.
