Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to try to find methods which make the teacher able to support students’ learning within the course of Swedish 1 at upper secondary school. There was slightly greater focus on students with difficulties regarding memory and concentration ability. The empirical material consisted of a study where two student groups participated in different teaching models. One model was based on teaching materials and the other on neurodidactics. Within the frame of this study there were a pre- and a posttest, but the students’ comments and the teacher’s observations were important data too. The result showed that the neurodidactic teaching led to better student performance and more positive students. In addition, the result showed that the more underachieving students gained the most from neurodidactic teaching, and that students’ well-being increased. A didactic implication from this study is that universities and schools must provide opportunities to educate future and existing pedagogues within the subject of neurodidactics in order to further accommodate students’ possibilities of joyful learning with better results.
