2006 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This essay will discuss the depiction of women in the works of Charles Bukowski. It will examine and discuss the female portraits that Bukowski gave in his novels. The purpose with this essay is to try to find out to whether it is just or not to think of Bukowski as a male chauvinist and a misogynist. Many critics has striked down hard on the texts by Bukowski aswell as on the persona of Charles Bukowski. This essay will try to find out if this kind of critic is fair when it comes to Bukowski. I can agree with some of the critic that Bukowski has recieved but I think there is more to him than his critics implies.
