Utilizing ISO Guidelines to Improve Website Quality Gaps: For AB Scandinavian Travel DMC

Abstract [en]

The main purpose of this thesis was to fill the quality gaps of AB Scandinavian Travel DMCwebsite, by redesigning the website with help of ISO 9126 quality general guidelines and goaldirected design (GDD) guidelines. Thereafter implementing a new website for the company. Thethesis had a main question attempted to answer through the new website redesign process, How ISOquality guidelines can be utilized to fill quality gaps during a website’s redesign process?The ISO 9126 quality standards, gives general guidelines and descriptions to the quality aspects ofsoftware products but do not specific scope for software quality.During preforming the project’s phases, requirement specification was developed based on theproblems the website contained, needs of the project outsourcer and other interests, as well asquality requirement which based on ISO 9126 quality standards. Requirement specification was thebase on designing and on the development process for the new website. The new websiteimplementation was based on web content management system technology, specifically JoomlaCMS.
