"Nu är vi ett, precis här och nu": Inre motivationsupplevelser i människa-hästinteraktioner
2011 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this thesis was to illuminate the current experience of intrinsic motivation and any experience of personal development in eight different human-horse interactions. Semi-structured interviews were used to examine issues such as: What in the human-horse interaction motivates the interviewees? Is the human-horse interaction primarily based on internal motivation? What kind of intrinsic motivation is perceived? Is basic psychological needs met? Does the human-horse interaction provide experiences of personal development regarding the different self-structures? The results show that the human-horse interactions generally were based on intrinsic motivation and that the interviewees had a desire to understand the horse as well as a desire for a unit-esteem. All the interviewees felt that they had developed as persons through their human-horse interactions. Keywords: motivation, intrinsic motivation, human-horse interaction.
