The aim of this study was to describe how women experienced daily activities after hip fracture surgery with hip replacement. Those who are surgery with hip replacement have movement restrictions for three months. In addition to the physical limitations after a trauma like hip fracture affects the activity restrictions ability in different ways in everyday life. Six women were interviewed with semistructured interviews and analyzed by qualitative content analysis. This resulted in three categories: "never again as before," "feeling of being left out" and "fear and uncertainty meant that the world shrank." The study shows that the everyday activities that were obvious to perform for women before hip fracture were changed. Women experienced a loss of involvement in self-care and ability to perform household chores, changes that they not had chosen and which came suddenly. The study may contribute to a better understanding of patients' continued need for rehabilitation after hospitalization. A rehabilitation that is long-term, individual and meaningful for the patient to regain participation in daily activities.
