An engine management system for the LTU formula SAE race car

Abstract [en]

This thesis is about the practical implementation of a distributed engine management system on the formula SAE race car built at Lule°a University of Technology. Most of the theory behind the engine and the electronics are beyond the scope of this thesis. Instead I will explain most of the features and functions that have been implemented, and give a short explanation of what their functions are. At the end I will also show how the system is integrated on the car. The advantages to build such a system from scratch is to have complete control of the engine. And to be able to integrate the Engine Management System in a good way with the rest of the electronic that is on the car.
