Relationen mellan IT-kapacitet och molntjänster: Med huvudet i det blå?

Modern technology brings forth great possibilities for companies to enhance performance, optimize efficiency and cut costs. But it can also hinder and limit those who for some reason can’t or won’t embrace it. Cloud services as a concept has been around for decades, but has just recently experienced a mainstream breakthrough. But what does successful cloud computing actually entail and require? In this study we investigate the factors research suggests influence successful cloud computing. Additionally we conduct a semi structured interview with a cloud service provider. This so called IT capacity entails areas such as managerial IT competence, technical capacity and the relationship between the service provider and the client. We found that although the provider values client-side IT capacity, this is not a prerequisite for the cloud service to be considered successful.
