The essay examines the importance of practicing scales for a violinist. A process description of how the technology as well as the perception of exercise can be developed over five weeks of intensive rehearsing. Finding your own way to practice right and understand the importance of the conscious exercise. The work builds a bridge between the scales mechanical world, and the music's more alive and creative character. The resonant part contains a performance of the first movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto as a result of five weeks of conscious and questioned practice. Example attached, on the scale exercise in itself sounded before and after the exercise period. The main text describes the process execution, problems and solutions, which are tied to a bag full of new skills to bring to the future rehearsal and concert stages. If making a boring must, for something interesting, fun and meaningful.
