Abstract [en]

The primary reason for this project is the lack of support for detecting changes in Netscape's Directory Server 3.x. Netscape Directory Server 3.x is not able to notify listeners of actions that occur in the LDAP tree. This has been accomplished by making a plug-in that is attached to the Directory Server. When an action is performed on a node the plug-in sends a CORBA message using the CORBA Event Channel service. The secondary reason for this project is to get acquainted with the LDAP protocol and CORBA, due to that they are both areas of research and exploration and could be used for future projects.
