Abstract [en]

It is very important to have a cheap and effective way of spreading news, distributing tasks and work-load within both educational institutions as well as in companies. The XPort system was developed in order to meet this need. This report discusses the important theories as well as their application in the portal. It also describes how XPort may ease the work- load of its users while they work in a safe and friendly environment. The tools that XPort supplies for dealing with organization administration consists of for instance scheduling, document sharing, archiving, custom made surveys, project grouping as well as various means of communication. XPort also has a mobile phone text messaging support which allows for quick updates of, for instance, news pages through ordinary cellular phones: thus giving the portal an extra pinch of mobility.
