Productiondevelopment means that sought-after improvements in production are examined and solutions are developed. The aim of the degree project at Franke Futurum is to streamline the flow of materials and procedures when assembling their top-selling range kitchen fan series, as well as improvements in the working environment. A production experienced not being optimal efficient. The work has been done by evolutionary development of existing production. The project begins with the clarification of project goals and the establishment of a project plan as the basis for the work. Project structure and the methodology used follows the theory that has developed or incorporated into LEAN organization theory. After project planning began context survey by means of data collection over the current situation. It showed that there were a number of long and numerous short but frequent transport of materials that took time from actual production.Based on contextual survey a requirement specification was created with requisites for solution proposal to improve the layout and working practices to improve production efficiency. The requirement specification is then used in the work of idea and concept development phases and as a base to develop solutions and evaluate them. The work resulted in layout proposal drawing with some reorganization of the production area. Restructuring of storage locations and work routines how materials are retrieved from storage locations to the production.Solution proposal help to reduce waste of working hours in the transport of materials and thus increase the potential production capacity and to some extent also improve working postures in certain operations.
