Rejlers has been requested by JRMekan to reconstruct a material container used by Boliden Rönnskär. The function of the material container is to store and transport various materials. The problem with today’s version of the material container is that it is not economically sustainable to manufacture. The reason for this is that the construction is complicated from a manufacturing point of view, and the manufacturing schedule is currently incorrect. Boliden Rönnskär also request that the container can be handled with the help of cranes or overhead cranes as a complement to the existing lifting devices.The assignment, provided by Rejlers, was to reconstruct the material container in such way that the cost of manufacturing is reduced. It also includes applying appropriate fasteners to enable lifting of the material container using a crane or an overhead crane.This thesis resulted in new manufacturing drawings for a material container which has a simpler manufacturing process and fewer components than the previous model. The new material container also meets the requirement to be handled by a crane or an overhead crane.
