Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine pedagogues behaviour and perceptions of gender in preschool. We have chosen to use the methods of observation and interview in order to achieve our purpose. We visited two preschools and observed pedagogues in three different situations in their work with the children, we wanted to see if they make any difference in the meeting against boys and girls. The results showed that the pedagogues we observed worked pretty equal. After the observations have been made, we interviewed pedagogues to find out what their perceptions of gender in preschool were. Their perceptions are that gender is a big topic and relatively new to all educators, but they see the importance of working equal. Most people believe they work equal but shows signs of lack of competence in the subject of gender and would like further education by acquiring new knowledge.
