Abstract [en]

When data is sent over a best effort network such as the Internet there is a risk of packets being dropped along the way. This report describes the investigation and results of how to prioritize a stream of realtime audio within a media stream when sent over a public best effort network using the DCCP protocol. A lot of the work has been implementation of DCCP for the linux operative system. The conclusion is that it is suitable to schedule the audio to be sent in the first packet of each media frame in order to keep the losses for the audio stream as low as possible.
