#Hipster #Diskurs: En studie som undersöker hur hipsters framställs i svensk kulturdebatt och på nätet.
2015 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This bachelor thesis analyzes how the subculture hipsters and its participants are presented in Swedish cultural debate, and compares the result with a digital handbook through critical discourse analysis. The study shows that hipsters are presented in two different ways; one positive and one negative. The positive presentation shows hipsters as a curious and creative subculture while the negative one presents hipsters as shallow and arrogant consumers. The discourses don’t differ from the digital handbook, which presents hipsters with similar physical attributes and values.
