Everyday rehabilitation of elderly constitute a large part of the home care aides daily work, where the occupational therapist can assist with including supervision and training for perso-nell. The purpose of this study was to determine home care aides experiences of how everyday rehabilitation in the home works and can be improved in the elderly care. The authors have used a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews to collect data. The interviews were conducted in two municipalities in southeastern Sweden at both the municipal and private home care operators. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis, which resulted in four categories: "To enable everyday rehabilitation of older," "Consultation with colleagues and other authorities," "Working in the elderly person's home" and "Understanding and developing everyday rehabilitative approach." The results show that home care staff needs to update previous training continuously, but also the need for specific training in everyday rehabilitation. It also reveals the need for a closer collaboration with occupational therapists in order to highlight the specific knowledge of the various professions.
