Abstract [en]

Absence of a website means that many customers may be lost for a company. If there, despite everything, is a website describing the company's operations, the company is still at risk of losing customers if the site is not accessible from the device used by the visitor. In today’s society it is more a rule than an exception that web pages are visited with different devices and resolutions. A solution to this problem is to use responsive web design to create a flexible design. M&R Mekan & Konstruktion i Skellefteå AB has not had a website to present their activities for neither potential nor existing customers. The aim of this work is to develop a website for the company by using responsive web design as a step in the development process. Based on agile development methodologies and theories about design, responsive web design, usability, HTML5, CSS3, PHP5 and JavaScript, a responsive website has been created featuring the company's operations and services.
