Abstract [en]

ICT (Information- and Communication technology) is something that strongly characterizes our society today, with the result that its use nowadays only is limited by our own imagination. The use of ICT in crisis purposes today is seen as an obvious choice for information sharing, but what sort of ICT-tools are used in public schools before, during and after a crisis? This study´s result, which has been based on responses from two geographically widely separated municipalities in Sweden, shows that municipal regulations and policies limit the use of ICT in a crisis. The municipality says that all official information should be released through their website, which limits the extent to which schools can use ICT in crisis management. Further the results of the study show that it is primarily the tools that the staff uses in their everyday work that is also used to help in crisis management and also that social networking is used to some extent.ICT, crisis, before, during, after, games, simulation techniques, WIS, MSB, social networking, crisis web,
