Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the role of stress-related factors, recovery and well-being of the perceived health of pregnant women who are expecting their first child. The following questions were used to answer the purpose: How often do the participants feel stressed? What health promotion activities are the participants using to feel good everyday during their pregnancy? Method: The method was mixed method. Data collection was done through paper questionaires. Results: The results were divided into three categories, stress-related factors, recovery and wellness. When asked how often the respondents felt nervous and stressed during last month about 23 % said often or very often, and 58 % said sometimes. The results show that about 70 % of the respondents stated that they sometimes or hardly ever wake up feeling well rested after a night's sleep. Only 12 % of respondents said they never or almost never have the opportunity to rest and recover during the daytime. Security and support is an important factor for health and well-being and the result shows that 100 % of respondents feel safe with the support from family, friends and midwife for future delivery. The question of whether respondents feel secure with herself and her pregnancy 50 % answered often, 27 % very often, 19 % sometimes and 4 % never. Conclusion: This study shows that well-being is affected by different factors in different people. Most people know what makes them feel good, but sometimes ignorance and insecurity can become a factor that prevents them from continuing with their activities during pregnancy because of fear of hurting herself and the fetus.Key words: Health-promotion, pregnancy, well-being, recovery, perceived health, health counselor.
