Picture and dance are both visual languages with non-verbal means of expression. They are art forms and means has been with us since the distant past. In this theme work children has been working with pictures and dance. To the pictures, they have done an analysis. The words that the students used in the analysis of the picture has been a tool of help for them in the creation of the choreography. Then they used the words as an aid in the task of creating dance from a picture. The free creation and the curriculum has been the foundation for this work. Observations and interviews were conducted with students to find out how the work happened. Students have at the end of the work painted something from their own dances.The result of this was that some students used more of the pictures and some more of the supporting/ helping words from the picture analysis in the creation of the choreography. The students experienced that the most positive was to work together in groups. The negative that the students described was that the time was too short and that they wanted to do the same task based on a different theme.
